This year's theme is Cerita Kita — Truly Malaysia. Download the A4 template, colour it by hand in any medium — crayon, pencil, watercolour — then upload a photo.

- Download the official A4 template (PDF format) for free.
- Print the template on thick A4 paper (120gsm or above recommended).
- Draw your creative artwork within the frame area, featuring the Sultan Abdul Samad building.
- Make sure personal details are clearly written at the bottom of the sheet.

THREE AGE CATEGORIES
Kindergarten & Primary
Hand-coloured only. We handle the rest — no digital skill needed. We're looking for cheerful, lively imagination!
Secondary School
For creative teens. Open to various techniques, including ink, charcoal, tempera, or fine sketch art.
Pre-U & University
Open category challenging conceptual thinking and strong technical skills about the uniqueness of Malaysian heritage.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Open to all students residing in Malaysia, from kindergarten to university, based on age category as of 31 December 2026.
- Entrants may submit more than one (1) entry.
- Each entry must use the official verified template.
Artwork may be created in any traditional medium — crayon, colour pencil, watercolour, ink, charcoal or tempera. Digital drawing or AI-generated artwork is not accepted.
- Must be drawn on the official A4 template only.
- Both black-and-white line art and fully coloured entries are accepted for judging, provided the frame is respected.
Submit a clear photo or scan of your finished artwork through the online upload form before the closing date.
- File formats accepted: PDF, PNG or JPG, maximum 10MB.
- Minimum resolution of 300DPI is required for laser mapping quality.
Entries are judged on creativity, colour composition, neatness and relevance to the Cerita Kita — Truly Malaysia theme.
- Each entry is scored by a panel of 3 independent judges per category.
- Judges' decisions are final and not open to appeal.
All eligible artwork will be projected onto the 137-metre facade of Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad during Light-Up KL on Merdeka night.
- Organisers may reproduce shortlisted artwork in event highlights, social media and print collateral with credit to the entrant.
Personal data collected is used solely for competition administration and prize distribution, in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
- Data will not be shared with unauthorised third parties and is retained only for the duration required by law.
